Sport NZ Coaching for Impact Programme Underway

October 2, 2023

Hockey Coaches and Developers have enjoyed the start of the cross code Sport NZ Coaching for Impact programme. Find out who is involved in the 2023 programme.

Over the last month Coaches and Developers have started their engagement in the Sport NZ Coaching for Impact programme. In its second iteration of the programme, Hockey has a strong representation across the country with 13 coaches, 6 Developers, and 2 Trainers involved. An incredible 280 coaches from 25 different sporting codes applied for the programme and 95 were then selected for the programme.

Since its introduction in 2021, the programme has evolved to now include Developers and Trainers, and shift from nation wide, to targeting three hubs,  Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

The main objective of the programme is to grow a collaborative network of coaches who influence positive change in youth sport aligned with the Balance is Better philosophy. Coaching for Impact will broaden the availability and access to high-quality coaching experiences for rangatahi in secondary schools and their local clubs.

Hockey NZ would like to thank all the coaches who applied for the programme, and congratulate those selected for the 2023 programme.
