September 30, 2020

Don’t miss out on Sandie Mackie’s interview from Auckland Hockey’s Flashback Friday

Sandie Mackie has had an exciting hockey journey. Born in Hamilton, Sandie moved to Northland when she was five, where she started playing hockey.

Sandie was part of the first New Zealand Women's Hockey team to compete at an Olympic Games in 1984 after the the team did travel in 1980 due to the boycott . The side finished 6th in Los Angeles.

Following her national representative honours, Sandie has continued to play and coach. Sandie is a familiar face in the New Zealand Masters age group teams and has coached numerous representative teams across the age groups. Sandie is currently the Development Manager for Auckland Hockey.

Sandie is a great community hockey leader and we are excited to share Auckland Hockey’s flashback Friday to hear more about her background as she catches up with Auckland Hockey CEO Manoj Daji.
