FIH Academy Level 3 Coaching Course 2026 EOI now Open

Hockey New Zealand is pleased to offer an FIH Academy Level 3 Coaching Course in 2026, providing a high quality development opportunity for experienced coaches operating in advanced development and performance environments.

The FIH Academy Level 3 Coach Award is an internationally recognised qualification designed to support coaches to lead effective performance programmes, apply contemporary coaching theory, and demonstrate reflective, evidence informed practice. The programme also places a strong emphasis on developing coaches who can positively influence athletes and other coaches within their environment.

This course will be delivered through a blended model across May and June 2026, combining live online learning, targeted online workshops, and a face to face practical course in North Harbour. The learning experience is aligned with FIH Academy requirements and includes formal assessment against Level 3 coaching competencies. The face to face component will coincide with the start of the FIH Nations Cup, providing an enriched learning environment connected to international high performance hockey.

Delivery will be led by experienced FIH Educators Amy Ryan from Australia and Jude Menezes based in New Zealand, supported by additional educators across selected online components.

Places on this course are limited to 13 coaches. Hockey New Zealand has secured funding to heavily subsidise course costs, including travel and accommodation, ensuring the programme is accessible to coaches who are well positioned to apply learning within their current roles and contribute to the wider performance coaching system.

Coaches must hold an FIH Academy Level 2 Coach Award or an equivalent qualification to be eligible.

Note - expressions of interest now close Monday 13 April at 12:00PM.
