National Coach Developer Training Programme

September 8, 2026

Learn how to get involved in Hockey NZ's latest Coach Developer development opportunity.

Hockey New Zealand is pleased to launch the 2026 National Coach Developer Training Programme, designed to support new and emerging Coach Developers from across the country. Delivered in partnership with Catchment Coaching Leads, the programme aims to strengthen the knowledge, skills and confidence of those who support coach learning and development.

The programme will combine three online workshops in November with a two day in person learning experience at Lincoln University, Canterbury, providing participants with opportunities to learn, connect and develop practical Coach Developer skills.

As part of Hockey NZ's commitment to a connected and nationally aligned coach development system, the programme will help build a stronger network of Coach Developers who can support quality coach learning experiences across New Zealand.

Coach Developers will be nominated through their association. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to speak with their association or contact Ben Owers, Hockey NZ Coaching Lead, ben.owers@hockeynz.co.nz, for further information.
