On the 20th of March Hockey New Zealand will be hosting a Developer Workshop in Christchurch. The workshop will involve Developers from across New Zealand who will support the implementation of the first stage of the National Coach Development Programme.
Identified Developers were invited by Hockey NZ following their engagement in the Hockey NZ Developer Pilot, Sport NZ Developer Workshops, and leadership of Coach Development in their local community.
The focus of the workshop is to connect the group of identified Developers to work together in delivering the first of the National Programmes, Coaching of Introductory Players Programme. The programme is targeted at coaches working with adult and youth aged players who are new to hockey or are novice or advanced beginner players.
Following the Developer workshop, Hockey NZ will connect with targeted associations to deliver the coaching programme and collect valuable insights to support the national roll out of the programme in 2022.
Hockey NZ would like to acknowledge its Trainer team who lead the support for Developers and have played a critical role in designing and creating the National Coach Development Programme.
Looking ahead, Hockey NZ will be working with Collectives and their Associations to support the growth of local Developer networks to support the roll out of the 2022 National Programme and enhance local coach development opportunities.
