National Developer Residential Workshop

March 4, 2024

Developers from around the country will come together for three days to enhance their knowledge and skills to support the development of our Coaches.

The National Developer Residential is designed to support identified individuals from around the country to grow their knowledge, skills, and experience of developing coaches. This includes individuals working with coaches of players and coaches of officials.

The 3 day live in workshop will involve 20 Developers from 10 Associations. They will gain:

  • Valuable Professional Development to be a Developer – understanding how to support the development of Coaches
  • An opportunity to connect with other Developers across the country, to share knowledge and experiences during and beyond the workshop
  • Engage in learning by doing, providing hands on experience to truly understand and apply the Developer Approach

Experienced Trainers from Hockey and other codes will facilitate the workshop. The Trainer team will receive individual support from Sport New Zealand Sport Development Consultant Brett Reid. The workshop will be held from the 8-10 April in Palmerston North and supported by Hockey Manawatu.

The National Developer Residential is a key part of the National Coach Development Programmes. The Developer Programme is critical in growing a strong network of individuals nationwide to support the development of our coaches, and ultimately, better prepare Coaches to provide quality experiences for our officials and players.
