Coach, Manage, Analyst Opportunities - JBS Programme

August 19, 2022

Expressions of Interest now open for Coaches, Managers, and Analysts for the JBS Super Camp and Programme

The Junior Black Sticks (JBS) Programmes are back in action after an enforced hiatus due to Covid and the lack of international opportunities.

The programmes will hit the ground running, holding a Super Camp October 10 - 16, in Hamilton for New Zealand's identified U18 and U21 Men's and Women's players. The Camp will be led by JBS Head Coaches Aaron Ford and Mitch Hayde. Following the camp players will be selected to face Australia in the Junior World Cup qualifier later in the year, and ultimately the Junior World Cup at the end of 2023.

Calling all Coaches, Managers, and Analysts

The upcoming Super Camp provides a great opportunity to bring a group of Coaches, Managers, and Analysts together to get to know one another, connect with the JBS Head Coaches, support individual development and talk hockey. The interaction at the camp will also provide valuable exposure to the JBS programmes and assist the appointment process of JBS Assistant Coaches, Managers, and Analyst roles.

Hockey NZ is looking to fill the roles of JBS Assistant Coach, Manager, and Analyst for each respective programme post the Super Camp.

Expression of Interest Process

Hockey NZ has opened up Expressions of Interests (EOIs) for Coaches, Managers, and Analysts to get involved in the Super Camp and be considered for Assistant Coach, Manager, and Analyst roles following the camp.

If an individual is
unavailable to attend the Camp or can attend only part of the Camp, and wants to be considered for a role with the JBS Programme, they must complete an EOI. This is also the same process for any individual who is only available for the Super Camp, they must complete an EOI as well.

All EOI's must be completed by clicking on the below link by Sunday 28th August.

EOI's will be reviewed by a panel consisting of JBS Head Coaches, Hockey NZ Community Coaching Manager, and an Independent. Notification of appointments from the EOI process for those who have or have not been successful will be sent by the 6th September. If required, individuals may be contacted to provide further information to assist the process.

Any individual who is appointed as a Coach, Manager, or Analyst will be required to complete the police vetting process.
