REBOUNDER: CIRCLE ATTACK VS DEFENSE
Work on goalscoring and goalkeeping as well as rebounding with this combative circle based activity
HOW IT WORKS:
Set up 3 x outlet goals, with cones as per diagram, and balls behind each. 2 attackers and 2 defenders start inside the circle, with the attackers blocking the line to the outlet goals. The 3rd attacker starts in an outlet goal with the ball, carries into the circle and passes the ball to the goalkeeper.
The GK aims to kick the ball back through one of the 3 outlet goals. The 3 attacking players attempt to gain possession of the rebound and attack the goal. When the attackers gain possession, the defenders are activated and can help the GK to defend the goal and play the ball through an outlet goal.
The starting point can change for each ball and field players can regularly change position to shoot and rebound from different starting points.
If the goalkeeper is not able to regularly control the first rebound towards an outlet gate, a coach or spare player can roll another ball to an attacker.

WHAT TO FOCUS ON:
- GK to maintain balance and their head over the ball when kicking towards the outlet goals
- Rebounding players to get into a low body position with their stick down in preparation for the rebound
- Attackers to occupy goal scoring positions (spot, far post or guard) when teammate gains possession
- Attackers to control the first touch when receiving and move feet quickly in preparation for striking/passing.
- Defenders to defend the spot area and clear the ball quickly when they gain possession

WAYS TO ADAPT:
- Make the outlet goals bigger or smaller to adjust difficulty
- Add a scoring system where players are rewarded for scoring goals, earning penalty corners, or out letting from the circle.
- Add a defender to reduce space/time for attackers, or take a defender away to increase/time
